He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. - Psalm 18:19
God miraculously delivered the Israelites from the waters of the Red Sea. He took them to the Promised Land of Canaan, which was rich and flowing with milk and honey. But He did not do this immediately.
The Israelites had been in bondage for forty years. God heard their cry. He saw their oppression.
The Bible tells us that the Lord came down and rescued them. He does the same for us today.
It may be that you have been in a hard place for a long time, so long that you have nearly given up on God. You may not believe that He will come for you, that He even wants to rescue you. The Israelites felt this way also. God is still in the business of rescuing His own today. When He saves you out of a depressed and sorrowful situation, He will take you to a new place. From Egypt to Canaan, so to speak.
Have you sought God's deliverance? Be diligent in prayer. In His timing, God will answer your plea, just as He did for then Israelites. You are His child. Even while you remain in the desert, He can refresh your soul. Seek Him. He delights in you.
Father, Help me to have faith that You know what is best for me. Hear my cry from my own personal "Egypt" today. I need to know that You delight in me. Amen.
