Battle Cry

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Ephesians 6:10 ESV

Spiritual warfare intimidates me. A lie I get caught up in is “I’m not Christ-like enough” so when He starts leading me in something beyond what I think I can do, it’s scary. In all honesty, I sometimes pause wondering if obedience is worth the risk. When I question obedience, the timing is perfect for spiritual warfare. But our Mighty Warrior has armed us superbly. Ephesians 6:11-18 lists arms forged in the strength of His might, not our own. Every weapon describes Him and His character, so we literally walk in His strength. Who He is protects us and puts us on the offensive. We are not weak in Him, ever. One of the dirtiest things satan does is fan the flame of insecurity to keep us frozen in fear. By the way, keeping his name lowercase is a learned, intentional, shove of disrespect. Our very real enemy refuses to believe he’s been defeated. So he presses, especially in an area of our hearts where we are already unsure. The victory is won before we even lift our heads. We are victorious because His victory is ours. Let’s risk obedience, because in Him, there is truly no risk at all.

Father, thank You that You arm us “to the teeth” in light of the spiritual warfare around us. Keep us firm in the truth that who You are already makes us victorious. Give us peace to walk into the fight for Your glory and our good. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Your Turn:

What Biblical truth can you speak over the lies you believe about yourself in being used for His glory?

How can you use the armor of God to shield others in your life today?
