But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us! Romans 5:8
Many times we struggle with insecurity in our relationship with God. We may feel that we are incompetent, or undeserving of Jesus’ love. Regardless of what the world, the media, or Satan may tell you, you are enough. You are chosen. You are loved.
What we have to understand, is that when we get into the mindset that we choose God, we start to think that we have to do certain things to maintain His love, and when we stumble, the guilt may tell us we aren’t good enough to be a child of God.
God chose us and God pursues us knowing our past, present and future. Even though we may label ourselves, God knows every achievement, and every failure, and still calls us righteous by the blood of His son. What we see in Romans 5:8 is an important truth:
Jesus seeks out sinners, even when we aren’t seeking Him.
God simply delights in us, friends, and not our deeds. In knowing this we are free to pursue a heartfelt, genuine relationship with Him. We can be secure in His love, and know that our faithful deeds are an overflow of that love, and not a requirement.
Abba, I think you that you are full of love and not labels. Even when I see myself as unworthy, you see me as righteous and loved. Help me to live in that love, and see myself the way you see me.
Do you struggle with labels or insecurities?
Do you label others?
Lay down your struggles at the feet of Jesus. Ask Him to help you see yourself as He sees you.
