Comfort in God’s Consistency
"I will be the same until your old age, and I will bear you up when you turn gray. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will bear and rescue you." Isaiah 46:4 CSB
Do you ever find yourself looking back at the faithfulness of God only to find yourself still not trusting Him with the present or even the future? It is crazy to me how in my own life I can look back and see how God has been so faithful, yet I still doubt His goodness. I feel the need to always have a backup plan or take control of things that are in God’s hands. When we read the Word of God, we see clearly that God is the same today, yesterday, and in the future. The same God that created the stars, the God of the mountains, the God of Jacob and Paul, is the same God that loves and cares about you and me and our daily lives.
Sisters, God loves each one of us wholeheartedly. This is so easy to forget, especially when we are in seasons of our lives where we may be facing difficulties just how much God loves us. Each of our days is ordained, and our God is sovereign over every moment of our lives. God is never changing, and He will always be constant. Throughout our hard times, throughout our good times, the Word says God made us—He will be the same, and He will carry us.
The promise that rang true to the Israelites in this passage is the same for us today. Let’s never forget these truths. Remember daily we have a God that loves us and will always be constant, good, and will carry us throughout our days.
God I thank You that I can always count on You and that You are always the same. Thank You for being sovereign in my life. I love You.
