Read:

He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all of your soul, and with all your mind”. Matthew 22:37

Reflect:

We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind. We’ve repented, believed in Jesus Christ, been justified and saved and now living a life of sanctification. God’s grace has poured over us in exceeding measure. With the Holy Spirit’s leading, help and guidance, we love and worship Him for His amazing grace and mercy on our lives. We were formerly dead and are now alive!

The heart, soul and mind are linked together. The one area often neglected is loving God with all our minds. We are renewed by the transforming of our minds. Romans 12:2. When we aren’t renewing our minds, it affects our devotion: our heart and soul. We were created to know our Creator. Not in ten lifetimes could we exhaust the knowledge of God, but learning as much as we can about Him renews our mind and brings Him glory! Living this life of faith is a daily practice of getting to know our Heavenly Father. Let’s not settle for quick “feel-good” verses. Let’s be diligent to carving out time to dig into His Word, studying about who God is. His attributes, His promises, His mercy, His grace, and His love. The Bible is a book about God, let’s open it with intention and purpose. Let’s exercise our intellect by learning about Him and His Word, how the whole Bible ties in together for the redemptive work of Christ, and WHO God is! Let’s love the Lord with all our hearts, souls and minds!

Pray:

Father, open my eyes to learn more about You by digging in and studying Your Word.

Do you want to be more purposeful in studying God’s Word? Here’s a resource that has helped me tremendously: the book “Women of the Word” by Jen Wilkin. Find a sister to go through this book with, hold each other accountable and pray for each other as you learn to study His Word.
