Follow Him Into Summer

Read:

“Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.” (Ezra 10:4 ESV)

Reflect:

Her luggage meets the weight requirements. Going through airport security contradicts what the national news had portrayed. Flying 17 hours, she’ll land in a country where evangelism in the name of Christ is a jailable offense. The Bride there is underground, shining brilliantly, and for a few weeks she’ll get to encourage and affirm her. She’s excited to meet the hearts she’s been praying over. So big gulp, head high, brave grin. God’s will is the safest place.

Over the next few months hearts will go on mission trips to reflect His love for others. It will look different for everyone, each task intimately penned by the Author of the Universe based on how He’s gifted you. Yours could be showing up in summer camps, Vacation Bible School, church internships, volunteer hours, being that house where all the kids hang out and a million other ways to care for our neighbors. Whether you travel this summer or have a “stay-cation”, our mission remains the same. A change in our daily rhythms opens up doors to point others to Him. We all have opportunities to introduce Jesus to the hearts we encounter so let’s be faithful to follow Him into summer!

Pray:

Father, thank You for changing our rhythms of the summer. Please give me summer days and opportunities that encourage others to know how good You are. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Your Turn:

What summer tasks has He imagined for you?

Considering your summer plans, which ones already show opportunities to point others to Jesus?
