God Doesn’t Need Your Talent
“For by the grace given to me, I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” Romans 12:3
The Lord doesn’t need my theology, words, talent, voice etc. And friends, He doesn’t need yours either. When I remember this, I recognize what a privilege it is to be used by Him. He uses us because of his goodness, not due to anything found in us. You and I are wholly undeserving of such a wonderful gift.
What do we have that hasn’t been given to us? What growth or fruit in our lives was not crafted and worked by God? Is there any faithfulness found in our life that wasn’t wrought by the Spirit living in us? Truly, we have no claim to boast in anything other than Christ. So let us kill our pride and boast in the One who saves, justifies, sanctifies, and will glorify us with him!
He doesn’t need us, but He chooses to use us. What a beautiful thought!
Father, thank You for using us to fulfill Your plan and bring You glory. We don’t deserve such grace. Please remind us continually of this truth and protect us from becoming prideful. In Jesus name, Amen.
Have you felt pride regarding your gifts welling up in your heart? Spend time confessing and repenting before the Lord. Focus on all He’s done in your life.
