Read:

“…I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” (Gen. 28:15)

Reflect:

God is so faithful. He is absolutely, unbelievably, consistently faithful to His Word. Why then do we struggle to trust Him? We struggle to trust because we don’t know what or who we’re trusting.

When we don’t know what has been spoken to us, we don’t know what to believe. We start trying to seize control of our circumstances because we don’t trust that God is working. We don’t trust because we don’t KNOW. We don’t know what God has promised through His Word, because we haven’t read it. We don’t know He said He wouldn’t leave us because we never embraced that promise.

God has spoken to us through His Word. He has inscribed His faithfulness in the stories of mankind from generation to generation. We can trust Him; we can have a bold, fearless faith! But the boldness of our faith is dependent upon how well we know our God. To know Him is to trust Him, because He is perfectly faithful.

Pray:

Lord, reveal yourself to me and help my faith to grow.

Your turn:

How can you grow in knowledge of God this week?
