Read:

“Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; that's why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little.“ Luke 7:47

Reflect:

Has anyone ever told you that you take Jesus too seriously? That you're overly religious or too spiritual? I have certainly heard some of those things myself over the years. I guess we can't blame those that say things that like that; they have not experienced the Lord's amazing grace. When Jesus was invited to the Pharisees house to dine with them, a woman, who was a sinner, found out Jesus was there and brought an alabaster jar of fragrant oil. She sat washing His feet with her hair and was weeping. Of course the Pharisees wasted no time pointing out that she was a sinner!  After responding with a parable, the Lord proceeded to tell the Pharisees that her many sins were forgiven and that's why she loved much, and that the one who is forgiven little, loves little. Luke 7:36-47

We should be taking Jesus seriously. If we examined our hearts, we may even find we are lacking in not taking Him seriously enough. Our Savior has forgiven us of many sins. We can think about our lives before Christ. We remember our ways. We know how we talked and acted. We can recall horrible things we've done clear as day. It's all forgiven. Our slates are wiped clean. We confessed our sins and He was faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. My thankfulness and worship to Him for my own sins being forgiven causes me to take Jesus seriously—very seriously. Amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see. We were wretched before Christ, but His grace has covered our sins, our many sins. We are a new creation in Christ, the old has passed, and the new has come. 2 Cor. 5:17.  So, let's purposely take Jesus too seriously, sisters, and receive and savor His amazing grace.

Pray:

Jesus, thank you that you have saved me and forgiven my many sins. I was lost but you found me, Lord. Holy Spirit, help me to passionately take Jesus seriously, every waking day of this life on earth.

Your Turn:

Has the Lord forgiven you for much? As forgiven women we are to proclaim what the Lord has done in our lives, do you share the goodness of Christ with others? Let’s be more diligent in telling other women what the Lord has done!
