His Faithful Love Satisfies
“Satisfy us in the morning with Your faithful love, so that we may shout with joy and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14
The Lord is so faithful. I know the chaos of life can blur our vision about this, but the Lord’s love is faithful. We tend to start our days with the heaviness of what is going on around us. We sometimes wish we can go back to bed instead of tackling the day that lies before us. I am certainly not saying always, but I think for the days we do feel like this, it’s worth talking about. Sleep is a wonderful blessing. We need rest! But I’ll admit there are certain days where sleep is a reprieve from life. This is why it’s so important to begin our days meditating on the Lord, His Word, and castings our cares on Him (Psalm 55:22). If His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23), then I truly believe the Lord wants us to receive it every morning, so He can satisfy us with His faithful love.
I love the Word; it brings me much encouragement and joy. But scripture is also useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16). The Word can sting a bit, but even that brings me joy! The Lord is sanctifying us, sisters. His correction brings me joy because I know each time it stings, He’s refining me to be more like Him. Despite how crazy or chaotic life can be, He loves us with a faithful love and wants us to begin our day soaking that up. Remain in Him, sisters. If we do, we remain in His faithful love, and our joy will be complete!
Father, I want to remain in your faithful love. Thank you that no matter what, Your love will always be there, ready and waiting for me to receive it from You. Your Turn: Mornings can be hectic, especially if you have kids and families to take care of. I encourage you to set some time aside for the Lord and His Word, and shout with joy afterwards!
