For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. – I Corinthians 15:53
God takes the broken and marred mess of our lives and gives us the promise of resurrected glory. He takes the guilt-ridden image of the flesh and gives the beauty of His glorious perfection: glory for shame, beauty from ashes, wholeness from brokenness. What a Savior!
We have been bought with the royal blood of Jesus Christ. We are purchased, we are owned, and we belong. Nothing can touch that, not trial, not disease, not loss-nothing. We daily bear our crosses in an act of worship acknowledging that the flesh has been crucified and the struggle won’t last forever.
Whatever situation you are in, you have victory; Jesus has overcome everything that would trouble you today. All will be made right and therefore you can take heart; encouraged by the knowledge that redemption draws near. Hope awaits.
Soon this perishable will put on imperishable and this inglorious body will be clothed in glory. The battle will be over. Hallelujah!
Thank you Father for the victory You have given us in Christ and for the promise of an eternity where everything that is wrong is made right. Amen.
How does meditating on eternity change your perspective on life and on trials?
How do trials deepen your dependence on the Lord and what He achieved for you at Calvary?
