Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. —Psalm 23:6
Sometimes it's scary to look out into the great unknown. As we stand on the threshold of a new year, we don't know what to expect. Will good things be in store, or do terrible things await?
We don't have the ability to see the future. But we do know one thing for certain. As long as we remain close to our Father, His goodness and love will stay close to us. No matter where we go, no matter where our circumstances may force us, His love and goodness will follow us.
Even when we wander away from His perfect plan for us, He is only a breath away. He promised in Romans 8 that nothing will ever separate us from that love. When life is good, He is there. When life is hard, His love and goodness are right there. Nothing—no sickness or disease, no foul circumstance, no financial difficulty will remove His love from us. It sticks like glue.
The challenge lies in finding His presence in tough situations. Sometimes we may have to look a little closer or search some odd places. But these things will never change: He is there. He loves us. He is good. And He will never leave us.
Dear Father, thank You for sticking with me, no matter what. That knowledge gives me confidence to move into whatever the future holds. Amen.
