Plotting or Praying
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? — Psalm 2:1
Think for a minute about the intricacies of the human body. Consider all the involuntary functions the brain tells our bodies to carry on while we are conscious of only a few they are doing, like holding a book or or reading the page.
Consider the many patterns and colors of nature and the cycles in which they occur. What about the complexity and beauty of various kinds of music and the ear that can hear it? Recall the myriad number of creatures and plants that live in the ocean. The Creator who made it is beyond our imagination. He is also beyond our control.
Why do we try to make our path without the all-powerful Creator God who does all things magnificently? Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God knows the plans He has fir us, to give us a future and a hope. Wouldn't it be wiser to pray instead of plot?
Why not ask God what His plans are for your life? He knows the future, and He will lovingly lead you there. Pray first before planning. Ask Him. He will show you the way. With bowed head and bended knee, worship this One who spoke the world into being. And ask Him what plans you should make.
Father, You made the world and all that is in it. You are the author of past, present, and future. Forgive me for wasting much time in vain plotting. Show the plans You have for me. Amen.
