Relying on the Holy Spirit
“...he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior...” Titus 3:5-6
What are you facing today that feels impossible? Maybe it’s a temptation that clings as close as your skin, or maybe fear is hovering over your head, seeping into your mind.
If you are a born-again believer, you aren’t fighting this battle alone. You have the Holy Spirit who has been poured out on you richly through Christ. What a gift! Not only does God save us from our sin, but He lavishes us with His Spirit so that we are enabled to live a godly life, say no to fear, and abstain from temptations of all kinds.
This should be a comfort to our soul. The Holy Spirit is our steady Helper who never leaves our side. He helps us fight temptation, convicts us of sin, comforts us in sorrow, and strengthens us when we’re weak. And He wasn’t just given in portion, but He was lavishly—richly—poured out on us.
Praise the Lord for this wonderful gift! May we be mindful of it as we face each day.
Father, I praise You for Your faithfulness to us in giving us your Spirit who lives in us. May we always be mindful and rely on Him each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Have you been relying on yourself instead of the Spirit to live the Christian life?
