Rise Up and Stand in the Gap

I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land so that I might not destroy it, but I found no one.  So I have poured out My indignation on them and consumed them with the fire of My fury. I have brought their actions down on their own heads.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.  Ezekiel 22:30-31 HCSB

The enemy is alive and well in this day and age.  What we are seeing in the world is a vast use of chaos and disarray, conflict, addiction, anger and offense. These are tactics of the enemy that can only be thwarted by the spiritual weapons that God himself has given every believer; particularly prayer.  In our reading today, we see that Israel was coming under judgement, and not one person interceded for the nation. Sometimes we are called to pray for those who can't or won't pray for themselves.  This can include a prodigal family member or friend;  stranger, an enemy, and this passage here is also a prime example that we need to pray for our Nation as a whole.

We are called to be warriors, and we are called to bear one another's burdens, but we can't do that without prayer, and we can't do that without Jesus. The only one who can bear the burdens of all, bore them on the cross. We are called as brothers and sisters in Christ to lay the burdens, the craziness, and the despair at the feet of Jesus. There is not one person who is too far gone from His grace, and we friends, are called to bring those who are lost to the foot of the cross.  The enemy has already been defeated, but it's time for us as Christians, as warriors to fight for those who won't fight for themselves. Today is a call sisters, rise up, put on that armor and stand in the gap.

Thank you God for your grace. Your word says that there is not one of us that is good, however, you in your mercy, bore the sins of all, making us pure and white as snow. Today I pray for those in my life that are lost, I pray for our nation, and I continue to pray for those you have so graciously put into my life.  Thank you Jesus that we are never too far gone from Your grace.

Your Turn:

Do you have anyone in your life that is lost?

Make a list of your friends that aren't Christians, pray over the list daily. Ask God for opportunities to share His love with them and continue to pray that their hearts are stirred.
