Second Chances

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. — 1 John 1:9

Ever had a really bad day, one where you wished you could crawl back in bed, pull the covers over your head, and start over? Sure, we've all had bad days—or weeks—like that. Maybe we've said something, we regret. Perhaps we've been wounded by the words or actions of someone we thought we could trust, and returned injury for injury. We've slipped up. . .in a big way. Oops!

If you're in an "Oops!" season, don't give up. God can redeem any situation you're going through by offering a second chance. There's a mistake you've made that's too big, too bad for Him to handle. Just confess your mess-up to Him and watch what happens next. Today's scripture assures us that He is faithful (won't leave you) and just (sure) to forgive us our sins. He offers a do-over. Not only that, He cleanses us from the inside out of all our wickedness. Whew! Talk about a fresh start!

So, what's stopping you? Your do-over awaits!

Lord, I'm so grateful for second chances. I've messed up so many times and in so many ways. Sometimes I want to hide in the corner. But You're a God of do-overs. Thank You for redeeming even the worst situation and offering me new chances.
