And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” — Isaiah 6:8 ESV
In the past few years, I have gotten hundreds of social media invites telling me the good news about a brand new product. I belong to countless Facebook groups where someone has found a product that promises me bigger boobs, a smaller waist and many other products that will change my life. For a time I even had my own business selling cosmetics, and I couldn't wait to tell people about how I could change their lives for the better.
I'm just going to lay it out there sisters; why aren't we this excited about sharing what Christ is done in our life? Why is selling product so easy, but making it a point to tell others about Christ so difficult, almost awkward?
This has been a week filled with emotion. There is a constant stream of images splashed across our TV screens of riots, anger, hatred and tears. It is up to us to share hope with a hopeless world, and what better way to share, than our own personal testimonies, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
In our scripture Isaiah knew that when he told the Lord to send him, the people would not respond. Isaiah was still obedient. Our neighbors need Jesus; let’s bathe ourselves in prayer and share Christ with a dying world. We aren't responsible for the result, but our submission is crucial. It is time to get out and share the love.
Father this world is hurting and like Isaiah, even though people may not respond, in front of my eyes, I ask that you show me how to love this hurting world around me. Thank you that I am forgiven, chosen and loved. May I love others with the same love you have bestowed unto me. In your Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Ask God to show you how you can share the love of Jesus with someone.
If you don’t know where to start, next time you go out to eat, ask your server how you can pray for them before you pray for their meal.
