Soli Deo Gloria

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

I must admit I fail at this daily. And because I fail at this daily, I am even more thankful that God's mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23. Whatever we do we are to pursue it in a way that honors and glorifies God. Will we mess up? Absolutely! But our desire to please the Lord in all we do should be on our hearts and minds every day. Sisters, we all come from different walks of life, it doesn't matter if we are a CEO of a major corporation, a cashier at the local Dixie stop, or a stay-at-home mom raising and homeschooling our children, we can still honor and glorify the Lord in our words and deeds. The way we conduct our relationships: marriage, friendships, work relationships, children, in-laws, customers, clients, or just every day acquaintances, can all be lifted up to the Lord so we honor him in all of our dealings and conversations - whatever we do.

We are not alone, though. The Holy Spirit guides us and teaches us. John 14:26. Sanctification is a work that God does to make us more like Christ, so we are constantly growing in our attempts to honor and glorify him and all we do. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Philippians 4:13. He gives us the strength and ability to honor Him. We can pray and ask him for direction and support when doing the most menial tasks we take for granted, to life’s biggest challenges and changes. And while we honor Him, our hearts overflow with thankfulness to the Father. So whether we eat or drink, or whatever we do, do everything for God’s glory. 1 Corinthians 10:31.

Father, I am thankful for your new mercies every morning. Give me the strength to honor you in every word that flows from my lips and every deed that is put forth by these hands.

Your Turn:

Sisters, let’s pray and lift each other up as we make it a priority in our lives to honor Him in all we do.
