Read:

The Lord is my strength and my song and has become my salvation. – Exodus 15:2

Reflect:

Moses and Miriam sang in joyful chorus about the mighty deeds of their awesome Deliverer.  God had truly done the magnificently impossible: He had defeated Pharaoh’s army in front of the Israelites in a mind blowing and miraculous way. Moments before this song, however, Moses was encouraging the people to stand still because the Lord would fight for them. They were surrounded, afraid and losing heart.

God echoes the same promise to us, dear sisters. In order to sing in the heights we must be delivered from the depths. Wherever God has you today and whatever it is that is making you unsure, exhausted or afraid, know that all you must do is stand still and wait upon the Lord to deliver you. He is your strength and your song.

Trials take their correct perspective when we remember just how much God has already done. Through Christ, God clothed us with His eternal righteousness. Will He not take care of every other detail that concerns us? I assure you He has, He is and He will.

Pray:

Mighty Father, thank you for being my strength. You don’t require me to be strong, instead You are strong for me. Be the song that sings continually in my heart. Amen.

Your Turn:

What events have taught you that God has you no matter how scary your situation is?

How has the Lord been your song in a hard season of life? Has that changed how you endured the trial?
