Read:

“By the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10

Reflect:

I think we all can agree 2016 has been a hard one. A part of me is thankful it’s coming to an end, and the other part of me keeps reminiscing on all that occurred these 365 days. There seems to be a recurring theme that continually plays out: God’s grace. In times of trials, He never failed to sustain my every need. When the heftiness of my sin weighed heavily on my shoulders, He constantly forgave me although I least deserved it. When success crept into my life, the credit went to none other than Him. And in happy times, I couldn’t help but be thankful for how gracious of a Father I have.

1 Corinthians displays this perfectly: “by the grace of God I am what I am…” We would be nowhere without God’s everlasting grace guiding us day by day, month by month, and year by year. Grace is power from God to do good things in us and for us all for His glory…and because of this, we can look ahead with confidence that 2017, although may have many trials, will be entangled with hope from the only One who can truly take our pain away.

Sisters, I encourage you to dive fully into the deep waters of His love and His mercy. Confess your sins, repent, and know that this New Year will be full of new beginnings and God’s everlasting, unchanging, incomparable grace.

Pray:

God I thank You for Your sustaining grace that got me through this year. Forgive me for placing my hope in things other than You, and thank You for never failing to forgive me.
