Read:

“Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish; for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! I say: The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him.” — Lamentations 3:21-24

Reflect:

We probably overuse the word hope. How many times do we find ourselves saying we “hope for something”? I hope to get this job, I hope to accomplish this, and I hope my kids obey. I hope to meet this deadline, I hope my business succeeds, or I hope I can get all my bills paid this month. I am exhausted in hoping for things that are not of eternal value, things which can be fleeting or change quickly. Christ is our hope. He is our portion. It’s because of His love that we do no perish, His mercies are unending. We can wake up every morning, despite our current circumstances, and receive His new mercies! His faithfulness is unlike any other. How much hope and joy that should bring us, sisters!

Jesus Christ is our hope, He is THE HOPE. This Hope does not disappoint even among afflictions. Romans 5:5. When we realize and understand this hope, when this hope is embedded in our hearts, we are willing and able to give a reason for our hope to those around us. 1 Peter 3:15. Let’s put our hope in Him!

Pray:

Lord Jesus, help me to know that putting my hope only in You is of eternal significance. You are the rock on which I will stand. Psalm 40:2

Your Turn:

What do you put your hope in? And do you share the reason for your hope with those around you?
