Read:

“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” - Isaiah. 58:11

Reflect:

God delights to guide us. Like any good Father, His heart rejoices when we walk hand in hand with Him on this journey through life. In the very beginning, He came to the Garden to walk with Adam and Eve, and today He wants to walk in that same communion with us. He promises guidance – if we’ll be still enough to listen.

We tend to approach God with doubtful hearts. We think in terms of the “worst case scenario”, doubting that God will really direct us in the best way for our lives. God is not playing a game of bait-and-switch, leading us down a road of disappointed dreams. There are times He allows us to be tested and tried—sanctified by the difficulty of a sin-tainted world—but God is all good, and His plan is sovereign. We can trust Him to lead us into His “good, pleasing, and perfect will”, where we flourish “like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”

Pray:

Lord, I seek your guidance today. Help me trust your direction.

Your turn:

How has God directed your steps in the past? Are you trusting Him in the step ahead?
