The World For Christ

Noah did everything God commanded him to do. Genesis 6:22

As the sun slowly dips, she and her daughters prepare the meal. Their men will come in soon. Before Noah heard from the LORD, extra places would have been set for friends. But it’s been months of hard, lonely work, and long days of ridicule. They think Noah is absurd for building an ark. Her husband is a righteous man but circumstances tempt her to believe he could have misunderstood the LORD. She has a choice, her faith in her God or in her circumstances. She believes the LORD’s words regardless of the reactions of others.
Our world is rated by double-taps and thumb-ups. It feels nice to be liked. Social media in its correct place is great. It can be used for His glory and our good. But there are also things He asks of us that aren’t so affectionately received. The world may not understand His calling in our lives, and it’s okay. Our friends and family may not either, and it’s okay. We don’t strive to win the world’s approval, we strive to win the world for Christ. “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,” Philippians 3:8.

Father, You know this world we live in and how best to guide us through it. Help us, in all things, point others to You. You are the best thing, give us opportunity to speak of You and Your greatness to others. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Your Turn:

In His calling on your life, how can you respond to Him about it?

What can you tell others about what He’s doing in your life today?
