Through Him, For Him, By Him

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and by Him all things hold together.”   Colossians 1:15-17

Why do we, those who have tasted the goodness, grace, and mercy of God, still seek - in our flesh - the things of this world? All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him. Colossians 2:3. They are not elusive, they are not hard to reach or find. All fullness dwells in Him. Colossians 1:19. We scramble about trying to find answers to why things happen the way they do, or we worry about what tomorrow will bring, and all along our Lord and Savior is here with us. He is alive! He lives insides of us. He is the image of the invisible God. All things have been created through Him and for Him. Seeking satisfaction, answers, wisdom, or knowledge outside of Christ is just a fleeting wisp of wind. Christ grounds us; He grounds us in the Truth of His Word. When I read the scripture referenced I cannot help but be in complete awe and worship. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End! Revelation 22:13.
I want my life to reflect Christ in every way possible: my decisions, opinions, words, thoughts and deeds. I want to point others towards the One that saved me! I spent so many years looking at myself in the mirror. I was digging into the scriptures to find what I needed for reasons of self-fulfillment instead of learning about who HE is. He is the Wonderful Counselor. Isaiah 9:6. He is the Light of the World. John 8:12. He is the Bread of Life. John 6:35. Through Him, for Him, and by Him, He is, sisters. He IS!

Lord, all things have been created through You and for You, and that includes your chosen sheep. Help us to live our lives in a way that shows others who You are.
