When You Mess Up
For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our sins, sending them away, completely letting them go forever and ever]; And abundant in loving-kindness and overflowing in mercy to all those who call upon You. — Psalm 86:5
The enemy's goal is to tempt you to yield to sin. He knows that even the smallest failure can cause guilt to rise up with you. If he can lead you to stumble spiritually or morally, he can further from crush you with the lie that God wants nothing more to do with you. Yet nothing could be further from the truth.
The Lord hates sin because He loves you—because sin devastates your soul. However, when you confess your failings to Him and turn away from them, God embraces you with deep affection and support.
Never allow the enemy's accusations to keep you from experiencing God's forgiveness. The devil may want you to fall, but the Lord can lift your soul. He will never leave you, so call upon Him and receive His pardon.
Teach me, Lord God , to call out to you for help and strength rather than yield to temptation. And thank You for forgiving me when I mess up. Amen.
