I will be found by you and bring you back from captivity. (Jeremiah 29:14 NIV)

God wants to do something new in you. He wants to heal you and bring you completely out of the dark into the light. He wants you to hold tight to His teaching, to His Word, so that you will know the truth and be set free. Free from the stronghold you've obtained from this world, free from the standards of this world, and free from the lies of the enemy.

He wants you to stop hiding, stop feeling ashamed and condemned and instead let Him inside of that dark place that you’re afraid to go to. He wants to clean it up for you, to purge you from anything that is not of Him. He wants you to call on His name, and surrender, withholding nothing.

Everyone who calls on the name of The Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13 NIV)

When you surrender your complete self to God, every single piece of you, withholding not one thing, you are giving God an opportunity to truly heal you with His power. The lyrics from William McDowell’s Withholding Nothing, “King Jesus, my Savior. I surrender. I give you all of me, withholding nothing,” are simple yet words with impact.

Withholding nothing from God can make a big difference in being truly saved and set free from whatever is a burden to our souls.

There was a time when I would hold back. I would talk to Jesus and tell Him what had been on my mind and bothering me, but I would tell Him only what I thought He wanted to hear. I was being politically correct, when I was talking to God. I even sugar coated how I really felt, but God is not some human psychologist. He is not someone you have to come to with a well thought out speech or with walls up.
He is a God that will take you in just the way you are and will completely restore you to a new being.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 NIV)

When you are not being 100% with God, you are halfheartedly seeking him and cutting yourself short of His power. Our Father wants us to be honest with Him. I know a lot of us are struggling with issues that we are afraid to confess, sins we are pushing into this box in our minds we think we only have access to.

God sees and knows everything. So, please, stop insulting Him.

He knows when someone is truly seeking Him for a Savior and forgiveness. We can confess all the things that we feel we should, but there are always dark secrets or feelings we keep down inside bottled up, hoping that by just ignoring them, everything will be okay. But the truth is that it won’t.

Have you ever wondered why, after you repent for something you've done, or asked for deliverance and then felt healed, you’re back to feeling  depressed or feeling guilty? Maybe that is because you were not leaving your whole being with God; you were holding back. You have to be real with Him because God can see your heart.

God should be like a best friend to us.

We should have the type of relationship with God that we tell Him EVERYTHING; the good, the bad, the ugly, the darkest and most painful and sinful sins ever!

We have to tell Him when our emotions are getting to us, making us feel we need revenge for being cheated or we need that person back in our lives when God has taken them away. We have to tell Him when we are feeling lonely, feeling unattractive, feeling jealous, feeling like we want to give up, even when we are feeling lustful, greedy, when we feel like we can’t hold out any longer.

Anything that is definitely not in agreement with God and His Word we need to tell Him. We have to tell Him how we really feel; withholding nothing back. The more we confess to God, the more He can heal.

When you stop trying to hide things from God and start being honest with Him, He will stop holding back and give you all that He has for you. We have to completely pour ourselves out for God so He can completely pour Himself into us. He wants to do some major work in us, and let’s face it, we need it; desperately. If you want to truly be healed, freed, and delivered, you must come to God with complete honesty.

Your truth will set you free. When I decided to completely surrender to God, to die to myself and stopped holding back things and just spill all the tea, giving Him my entire truth, I felt freedom. It was a relief feeling and it brought me closer to God because now I can tell him literally anything. That is what God wants; He wants us to communicate with Him and be intimate.

So today, give Him your heart, your soul, your mind, your body, your thoughts, your feelings, your problems, your insecurities, your sins, your past, your present, your future, EVERYTHING, give them to God.  He has a new beginning for you, He is a powerful God. He can take away all that is haunting and that’s a burden to you. He is just patiently waiting for you to surrender it all, withholding nothing.

…call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you…and will bring you back from captivity. (Jeremiah 29: 12-14 NIV)
